CalCast — Support
Last updated: 7 August 2026
CalCast is made by one person. Email bimsui@icloud.com and you will get a reply from the person who wrote the app, usually within two working days.
It helps enormously if you include your iPhone model and iOS version, and — if something went wrong with a particular meal — the exact words you typed.
Common questions
How do I log a meal?
Type or say what you ate, in whatever words you'd use out loud: two eggs on toast and a flat white. You don't need to search a database, weigh anything, or photograph the plate. Tap the microphone to speak it instead of typing.
The calories look wrong. Can I correct them?
Yes. Tap any logged meal to open it, and edit the item, the portion or the figures directly. For foods sold by weight you can set the exact number of grams. Your correction is what counts toward the day.
How do I log something I ate yesterday?
Scroll to the day you want and tap Add to <day>. Anything you log then goes to that day, and today's totals are left alone. Weight entries can be backdated the same way.
What is the forecast date?
The day you would reach your goal weight if you carried on at your current pace. It's an estimate from standard formulas, not a promise, and it moves as you log. See the Terms of Use for what it is and isn't.
What does "projected landing" mean?
Where your week's calories will end up if the rest of it looks like the days so far. It's shown while you can still do something about it, rather than as a verdict on Sunday night.
Does CalCast work without an internet connection?
Logging, editing and everything you've already saved work offline. Interpreting an unfamiliar meal description may need a connection; when there isn't one, CalCast falls back to working it out on your device.
Does it connect to Apple Health?
If you allow it, CalCast writes the meals you log to Health as dietary energy, and reads dietary energy and step count back. This happens entirely on your phone. You can change or revoke access in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.
How do I turn reminders on or off?
Settings → Notifications. Every reminder is off until you turn it on, and they're scheduled by your phone — nothing is sent from a server.
Subscriptions and billing
What does the subscription cover?
Logging. If a subscription ends, everything you have already logged stays on your phone and stays readable — you simply can't add to it until you resubscribe.
How do I cancel?
Cancelling is handled by Apple, not by us: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose CalCast. You can cancel at any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are also handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. We can't issue refunds ourselves, but do email us if something went wrong — it's useful to know.
I paid but the app still says my subscription ended.
Open Settings → Restore purchases inside CalCast. If that doesn't fix it, email us with the Apple receipt and we'll sort it out.
Deleting your data
Your diary is stored on your phone and never sent to us, so deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no account to close and nothing for us to erase on our side. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what does and doesn't leave your device.
Reporting a problem
Bugs, wrong estimates, and things that simply annoy you are all worth sending. So are feature requests — a good number of what's in CalCast started as an email from someone using it.
